Top-up IT Training
The training shall predominantly be delivered at the institutes/ colleges and universities selected for this program at each of the districts. The training will therefore be at the doorstep for the graduates in their institutes. Some additional training institutions may also be identified for training recent graduates.
The program is a 300-hours training based on about 9-15 hours of training per week with intermittent days available to students for self-learning and homework.
The most critical aspect of this training, focusing on contemporary IT skills, is close employ-ability linkages for the participants;
- Apply âTâ approach- quite a few enabling skills and core skills to build awareness followed by in-depth immersion in one area for employ-ability linked skills.
- Emphasis on the core and enabling skills on an ongoing basis during specialization training.
- On-going assessments including entry assessment, end of module assessment and end of course assessment
- After session work each day
- Learner guide which shall work as participant manual and learning diary
- Learner feedback on the training.
- Feedback by trainers to students and their parents
- Learning commitment by graduates and their parent(s)
- Guest lectures for industry professionals from time to time
- Employment assistance
- Contests and awards for excellence in performance by learners
- Joint certification by the GOB and Program Implementation Team
For the graduates who complete the program successfully, the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) will facilitate employment opportunities with the industry. The potential employers from the IT and other sectors are key stakeholder in the program who are part of the program each stage from design to implementation.
Foundations Skills Training
The training is a 160- hours training based on about 9-15 hours of training per week with intermittent days available to students for self-learning and homework.
- Training delivered in a sensitive, non-threatening manner using adult learning principles
- Suitable mix of class work and home work; and theory and practical aspects
- Addressing different learning preferences like learning by seeing, reading, doing, hearing and internalizing through multi-tool learning approaches including lecture demonstrations, group discussions, group exercises & peer-learning, self-learning, role plays, case studies, learner presentations, projects, mentoring, coaching, assessments, etc.
